Oh, hello there. Are you swinging by to see if I’ve kicked that shawl’s face in? I hate to tell you this, but the shawl still isn’t finished. However, I am making progress…slow, tedious, painful progress.
There are no pictures, because frankly, I don’t know how many pictures I can stand to post of some purple blob; besides which, I don’t know how many more pictures you can stand to see! But let’s just imagine that right now, the purple blob on my needles is growing and the ball of yarn is shrinking. In fact, I’m almost done with…halfway…ok, fine…maybe a third of the way through the last pattern repeat before I start the edging. I have high hopes and am promising myself that I will never, ever, do another lace-weight shawl again…. That is until I’m so bored with my life that I feel the need to escape into this horrible drama again.
I’d also like to note, after this whole spiel, that I decided to forgo putting in a lifeline when I got to the start of this last pattern repeat. Ya, I know. I’m living life on the edge right now! It might bite me in the ass, but I think I’m ok with taking that risk. Ya, ya, save me the lecture.
Does anyone else feel like they have so much to do knitting-wise, but are so consumed in their day-to-day responsibilities and activities that they can’t seem to get it done? I’m always amazed when I see other knitters post all these designs and finished projects like that *snap*. What’s their secret? How are you doing with your current project? And what’s your secret to getting it all done in a timely manner?
I really hope that it won’t take me another month before I post about a finished shawl. Let’s shoot for a week. Yes, I think that sounds reasonable. Why are you looking at me like that?
